OnlyFans Technical SEO

My wife caught me looking at OnlyFans last night.

I tried to explain but it didn’t go down well.

The site has been robbing me of sleep.

I swore to her it was purely for SEO research but she’s not happy!

OnlyFans has lost 50M people a month from SEO.

50 Million organic search visitors every month.

And purely from 1 tech issue.

The bulk of the drop is to their creator profile pages.

Majority of profile pages are no longer indexed on Google.

Due to JavaScript related issues.

Looking at Google’s rich results test, their profile pages all have the same blank content and meta tags (screenshot in comments).

One word ‘OnlyFans’ and nothing related to each creator, username, bio, nothing!
Again, as said with my NFL post, the content needs to be in the DOM for Google to see it.

But here’s the kicker:

I can’t figure out it this was an accidental oversight or if it was done on purpose?

I’m assuming accidental because you would just noindex or canonicalize these pages.
Was it because of Safesearch reasons?

But you could just hide any adult imagery for non-logged in users like the cover photos.

Also I wanted to dig in deeper on their homepage not being indexed either. Possible penalty there…

But I have spent enough time on this and don’t want any more issues at home.

What do you think has happened to OnlyFans’ SEO?
